On June 25, 2016, the 2016 National Optical Manufacture Industry Development Seminar & the Second Plenary Session of Sixth Council of Optical Component& Optical Instrument, hosted by Optical Component& Optical Instrument Branch of China Optics & Optoelectronics Association and undertaken by College of Optical Science and Engineering of Zhejiang University, was held successfully in Zhejiang University in Hangzhou. Over 50 experts and scholars from national research institutes, and colleges & universities as well as experts or enterprise directors from optical manufacturing companies participated in this Seminar.
The next day, led by Cheng Huiyun, General Secretary of Optical Component & Optical Instrument Branch, the representatives visited TDG sapphire manufacture base in Haining, Zhenjiang. The representatives discussed the possibilities of the further application of sapphire in optical field with Tan Guoliang, Vice President of TDG, Guo Yuebo, Operating General Manager of Crystal Material General Business Unit of TDG, etc. and learned on site about the whole sapphire crystal processing from material selection to coring, slicing, double-side grinding, and cleaning.
